I joined the staff of our church in 2002 as a part-time Associate Pastor. Before my partial retirement I served churches in Lampasas, Veribest, Austin, Schulenburg, Kingsville, Pearsall, Kerrville, and San Antonio. My last appointment before New Braunfels was District Superintendent of the San Antonio District. My family consists of my wife, Nancy, children, David, LeeAnn, and Terri, plus grandchildren, Lilly, Noah, and Braden and son-in-law Brad Hartman. Nancy retired in 2008 from school teaching. We love Canyon Lake where we live, New Braunfels where we work, and FUMC where we serve.
My name is Terri Hartman and I have participated in almost all aspects of our church’s activities, and now enjoy serving as Youth Director. I graduated from Churchill High School in San Antonio, and I have a degree in Education from Texas Tech. (GO RED RAIDERS!!!) I love being a member of this church and am very excited to be honored in being on staff here. My husband Brad Hartman is a HUGE support. He helps teach the 11am Youth Sunday School class, and helps take care of our Awesome son Braden Harold Hartman. Yes, Harold. My dad also works at the church as one of the associate pastors. I enjoy spending time with my family, church family, and friends. I also enjoy acting like one of my youth, and spending time bonding with them. I am glad to be part of the ministries of First United Methodist Church New Braunfels and I have a strong desire to make a difference for today’s youth. If you are looking for a youth group that is full of love and acceptance look no further. We love God and each other, and I am lucky to have them all. Thanks for checking out my page!
Tammy has been on staff here at FUMC since Oct. 2007. She and her husband, Adam, have been members since 2003. Tammy became active through MOPS, began serving on Children & Family Ministries and then accepted the opportunity to become the Preschool Coordinator. Since that time her position has expanded to the Director of Nursery Ministries. Tammy enjoys welcoming young families into our church and helping them find ways to become connected members of our congregation. She has two boys, Jacob & Jared, who keep her busy with school activities and sports. In her free time she enjoys time with her family & friends.
Childcare will be provided for the events listed on this calendar. If you need childcare for your church event, please contact Tammy Oliver.
My husband, Cameron, and I have been attending FUMC for around three years, and we love being a part of this church family. It is where we said our wedding vows and where we will raise our children. Speaking of raising our children, Cameron and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child in January.
I graduated from Angelo State University in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Since graduating, I have taught elementary school for five years. I have a HUGE passion for kids and a HUGE passion for God, which makes this job perfect for me. I have a lot of ideas for our children's ministries program that I can't wait to get started on.
I look forward to working with you and your children! I have loved FUMCNB for three years, and I am now excited to be part of its awesome staff too!
Karen served on the education staff of churches in
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men… Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
With that Scripture as the basis for my life, it was easy to accept this position at FUMC in 2008. I love devoting my day to serving Jesus, and am pleased to be here for His church and His people.
Twenty-five years ago, I was a church secretary in the Houston area. After some upheaval in my personal life, I went back to the secular work place in a career I knew well…banking. After remaining in banking for many years, I decided that my heart was not in it anymore and started looking around for something outside of the world of finance. That search led me to FUMC, where I hoped I could surround myself with like-minded people who I could call family. I knew I had made the right decision at my first FUMC staff meeting, when Pastor Keith opened the meeting with prayer. Now, THAT was something I was not accustomed to in a bank!
I am married to Fred and we have a blended and extended family of 5 children and 4 grandchildren. I cherish my family and look forward to every minute I spend with them. We live in Bulverde, and I use the 40 minute drive to and from work each day to enjoy our beautiful Texas Hill Country. (Of course, the fact that I don’t have to spend 40 minutes driving in and out of San Antonio is a nice perk too. Have you ever been on Hwy 281 at peak traffic times?)
What an awesome church family this is! Every person is unique, and I have grown to love and appreciate each and every one of you. I look forward to continuing to serve the Lord as I serve you in the coming months and years. I always want to be available…please give me a call if I can do anything at all to assist you.
Susan Weinand has been the Financial Coordinator of our church since Spring 2009. Susan is a graduate of Texas A&M University, class of ’78. She is married to Len and has two children, Trey and Christine. Apart from church work, Susan’s’ interests include, bowling, playing bridge, traveling, and spending time with friends.
I graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas on June 21st, 1972. I have remained active as a Registered Nurse since that time and have worked in the fields of Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, Emergency Room, Surgery, and Kidney Dialysis. The best Nursing job I have ever had is right here at First United Methodist Church, working with the members of the congregation and with the Community of New Braunfels.
I am married to Dale Hartman and have 3 wonderful grown children; Amy Bradford (husband Cecil), Jeff Smith (wife LaRhonda), and Heidi Smith. I have one Grandchild, Elliott Lee Bradford.
In my spare time I love spending time with my children and Grandson, working with my plants, and reading. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family playing games and visiting. My favorite place to be is at the beach, walking along the shoreline and watching the waves.
I try to live my life by the Bible verses Phillipians 4: 6-7. “Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Email Amber M.My husband, Danny, and I have been members of FUMC since 2002, and I have been on staff since Fall 2007. Although I earned a Masters Degree in Sociology from Texas State, my passion is creating visual art. FUMC afforded me the opportunity to turn my hobby into a job!
